General Description:
I was with Super Evil Megacorp when the Catalyst Black project began in October 2019. As Senior Director of Operations, I led both the development team and company operations during the first half of development, then transitioned to focus exclusively on operations as we scaled. I managed the team’s growth from 30 to approximately 60 people through launch. The game successfully launched on mobile in 2022.
Catalyst Black is a third-person battleground shooter featuring fast-paced, drop-in/drop-out gameplay. Players control customizable avatars on teams of 5-15, fighting alongside both AI teammates and other players across multiple game modes. The game emphasizes player choice through deep weapon customization, with primary and secondary loadouts ranging from battle rifles to rocket launchers, complemented by abilities and trinkets that enhance movement speed, reload times, and other tactical advantages.
My Responsibilities:
During my time on Catalyst Black, I was responsible for both production leadership and operational scaling:
- Led production for the development team during the first half of development
- Managed company operations throughout the project lifecycle
- Scaled the team from 30 to ~60 people through launch
- Managed vendor relationships and contracts supporting development
- Transitioned to pure operations focus midway through development to support team growth
