DinkWorld (Mock Pitch)
Jul 17th
DinkWorld is an assignment where a team of us developed an idea for a game and then pitched it to industry executives. Our game was a multi-modal game using the Kinekt interface system for the Xbox 360. The game was structured into multiple episodes where the players would create and manipulate objects within the game world to achieve various goals based on the episode they were playing. In my role as producer on this team I performed the following duties:
- Developed budget, sales strategy and basic schedule for mock pitch
- Helped guide decision making process with eye on strategy for marketplace
- Helped develop basic gameplay concept and mechanics
- Helped produce pitch presentation
Linked below are the budgetary, sales, and schedule documents used to base our pitch on:
Capture the Scotch
Jul 17th
In this variation of Hopscotch there are two players attempting to capture the opposing players scotch and return it to their starting position. The players must first throw their marker into one of the numbered squares and hop that number of squares and in that direction. The players cannot pass eachother and if they end their turn on the opposing players square the opposing player is knocked out to the beginning. The combination of the branching paths combined with the blocking and knocking out techniques makes this game very similar to chess in its strategy, but maintains the physicality of the original hopscotch. Igloo Challenge
Jul 17th
In this game you are striving to survive in the arctic winter. Shelter of course is a huge issue and there are only so much ice to go around. Unfortunately your neighbors have found your igloo ice quarry and they have been pilfering your precious ice for their own igloos. In this game you must not only survive the elements but battle against the other tribes for scarce resources. Using clear dice and clear stones for ices you roll against the elements and the other player to see who dominates with this scarce resource. Igloo Challenge Game Design
